INTRODUCTION This article is not only about the physical injuries suffered by human beings but also about how the world has been wounded psychologically, emotionally, economically, and socially. These wounds have affected and claimed the lives of countless people across the globe. The article examines how terrorism and wars occurring around the world today may result from the failure to implement effective precautionary and security measures. BODY Nigeria is one of the countries that raises the debatable question: “Is Nigeria gradually becoming a failed state?” This question arises because of the country’s persistent insecurity, the kidnapping of citizens for ransom, attacks on communities, economic hardship, and conflicts driven by ethnic and religious differences.
